Although Rhizoctonia is most commonly thought of as a root rot or stem base canker organism, it is also possible for it to attack foliage directly. This will happen under conditions of high humidity, or when foliage is in direct contact with the growing medium. The dead areas on the leaves can be mistaken for fertilizer burn.
